Interest from UK banks etc
This screen can be accessed from the data input tab within the tax return and allows for the entry of interest received from banks, building societies and other deposit takers. Interest received from Gilts, accrued income etc is entered on a separate screen see Interest from Gilts etc
Untaxed UK interest etc.
Use this grid to enter details of interest received gross.
- Description – enter a description of the source, such as the bank name and account details, this does not appear on the tax return it is for memo purposes only
- Account Number – enter the account number (added from 2022)
- Amount – enter the total gross receipt.
Taxed UK interest etc.
Use this grid to enter details of interest receipts that have been taxed at source.
- Description – enter a description of the source, such as the bank name and account details, this does not appear on the tax return it is for memo purposes only
- Account Number – enter the account number (added from 2022)
- Amount – enter the total gross receipt.
- Net – enter the net receipt. The expected tax paid will then be calculated and displayed.
- Tax – the amount of tax can be overridden.
The tax entered is ignored by the HMRC calculations which will use a rounded up figure of tax based on the total rounded net interest.
To delete a line from the grid, click the trash can button at the end of the line.

Enter any additional white space notes that you wish to be included on the tax return.
