Front page details
This screen is accessed via the Data input tab within the tax return. Information that appears on the front page of the Tax Return.
- Employer reference for front page (NNN/XXXXXXXX) – enter the employer reference that appears on the front of the form. This information only appears on the paper form and is not part of the information that is submitted when filing online.
- R40 reference – applies to the Form R40 only. When producing a Form R40 for a client who does not have a UTR, this field can be used to enter the reference to be used on the front page of the form.
- Date of Issue – enter the date of issue of the tax return. This information only appears on the paper form and is not part of the information that is submitted when filing online.
- Address – click to choose the client address that you wish to appear on the front of the form. Read about entering addresses in Taxfiler.
- Name and address changed – for years up to 2015, tick this box to indicate to HMRC that the name or address of the client has changed.
- Date changed address – from 2016, enter the date that the address changed.
- Omit client’s phone number from tax return – tick this box to stop Taxfiler from including the client’s phone number on the front page of the tax return.
- Tax Office – input the name and address of the tax office that you wish to appear on the front of the paper form. This information only appears on the paper form and is not part of the information that is submitted when filing online. To select an office from the pre-defined list of HMRC offices click , and select the office required from the list presented.
